2018 PacWest Women's Golf Awards
IRVINE, Calif. – Academy of Art women's golf has been a powerhouse in the PacWest since the program's inception. The 2017-18 season was no different and the Urban Knights now have the accolades to prove it: for the second-consecutive year, five ART U players have been named to the All-PacWest team which is headlined by
Anahi Servin who was not only given Freshman of the Year Honors, but she was also named the PacWest Golfer of the Year and has a spot on the All-Conference First-Team.
Anahi Servin – Golfer of the Year, Freshman of the Year, All-PacWest First Team
Servin immediately put herself on the map with ART U in her freshman campaign. She won three individual titles this season, including at the
PacWest Championship. In the first round of the conference tournament, she broke the ART U program, course, and conference tournament records with 64 strokes (-8). She also posted the lowest-score for the Urban Knights in seven tournaments and placed within the top-5 at five Invitationals During the season, she was recognized four times as the PacWest Golfer of the Week. This is the second-consecutive year that an Academy of Art women's golfer has been crowned Golfer of the Year as
Sterling Hawkins won the award in
2017.
Crystal Wang was also named Co-Golfer of the year in
2015.
Sterling Hawkins – All-PacWest Second Team
In her senior season, S. Hawkins finished within the top-11 six times. She led ART U in two tournaments including a second-place finish at the
Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout. She was named PacWest Golfer of the Week on
March 7. This is the third All-PacWest honor for S. Hawkins as she was named Golfer of the Year in 2017 and to the All-PacWest Second-Team in
2015.
Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo – All-PacWest Second Team
Kuo finished seventh at the PacWest Championship to make the All-Tournament Team. She also placed within the top-10 in four tournaments this season. This is Kuo's second-straight year being named to the All-PacWest Second Team as she also made this list last year in her freshman season.
Elan Hawkins – All-PacWest Third Team
E. Hawkins claimed seven top-20 finishes this year and led the team with a second-place finish at the
California Bays Invitational. This is also Hawkins second-consecutive year making the All-PacWest Third Team as the sophomore claimed the award in 2017 as well.
Shu-lin Lin – All-PacWest Third Team
Lin's best finish was a tie for fifth at the
Mikuni Sushi Shootout where she helped her team win the tournament. She also placed in top-20 in five tournaments this year and tied for 13th at the PacWest Championship. This is the seniors third time on the All-PacWest Team and she was also recognized as the conference's Freshman of the Year in 2015.
