2025 NCAA Division II West Regionals (Final)
AMARILLO, Tex. – Closing out the final tournament of the campaign, Academy of Art women's golf concluded the NCAA Division II West Regionals on Wednesday, playing two rounds on the day and coming out with a 67-over-par 919 as a unit.
"We had an awesome experience at Regionals this year," said Head Coach Beth Allen. "I'm especially proud that we improved in the final two rounds. The team was really resilient in very tough conditions and their attitudes were unbelievable. It's been an incredible season and I feel really privileged to be their coach. There are big and bright futures ahead for this group, and I'm going to miss them with all my heart."Â
After starting the tournament with a 37-over-par 321, the Urban Knights put up back-to-back rounds of 15-over-par 299 to conclude their showing with a 15th place finish. Finishing in the top spot for ART U was freshman Jannel Calixterio, who led her team with a 15-over-par 228. Right behind her was sophomore Chantel Tsai and junior Nicole Yang with a 16-over-par 229, as the latter rose 21 spots in the final round with her even-par 72. Freshman Meri Illamola finished in the fourth slot with a 25-over-par 238, with freshman Isabella Christy rounding out the squad with her 27-over-par 240.
Leading the team portion of the tournament were No. 4 Dallas Baptist and No. 26 Midwestern State with a 29-over-par 881 apiece. On the individual side, Anna Nomrowski of West Texas A&M and Brecklyn Flanagan of MSU led the field with a 3-over-par 216, as both golfers bounced back after shooting rounds of 5-over-par or more in the first round.
