PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Feb. 19)
IRVINE, Calif. – After coming just two steals shy of a triple-double and setting the Academy of Art University women's basketball single-season rebounds record in the same game, redshirt senior forward
Pre'Franz Dominick captured her third PacWest Conference Defender of the Week honor of the season. The award was based on games played Feb. 12-18.
Dominick began the week with four steals, two blocks, and eight rebounds (three defensive) against No. 24 Hawaii Pacific on
Feb. 12. That defensive success then carried into a memorable rematch with Notre Dame de Namur on
Feb. 17 where the DeRidder, La. native broke the program's single-season rebounds record with eight in the opening half and later finished with eight steals, 19 rebounds (13 defensive) and three blocks.
Dominick logged the most steals (12) of any PacWest player last week and was tied for the most blocks (5). She currently leads the PacWest (fourth in NCAA Division II) in rebounds per game (12.3), is third in points per game (17.6), ranks fifth in blocks per game (1.4), and is eighth in steals per game (2.0).
This is Dominick's third PacWest weekly honor in her career after she won two in January (
Jan. 15,
Jan. 22).
