PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Feb. 19)

IRVINE, Calif. – Offering contributions offensively and defensively in Academy of Art Softball's victory over No. 15 Cal State Monterey Bay on Feb. 18, pitcher Brooke Larsen (4-1) was selected for her third consecutive Pacific West Conference Freshman of the Week. The award was based on games played Feb. 12-18.

Larsen started the doubleheader against CSUMB with a 1-for-3 game one then, in the circle for game two, she delivered a complete 7.0 innings, allowing just three runs with no walks while matching her season-high of nine strikeouts. She would drive in what ended up being the winning run on a double in the first inning and later doubled home one more to finish 3-for-4 with two runs batted in. She now has a four-game hitting streak.

Through five starts as a collegiate pitcher, Larson leads the PacWest in complete games (5), is second in strikeouts (39) and innings pitched (38.0), and third in wins (4). As a hitter, she ranks second in the conference in doubles (4).

This is the third PacWest weekly honor of Larsen's career after she picked up awards the past two weeks  (Feb. 5, Feb. 12).
