No. 8 Academy of Art versus Dominican Final Results
SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – In their first game back in the Bay Area in a month, No. 8 Academy of Art women's tennis made quick work of Dominican on Sunday, defeating the Penguins 7-2. The Urban Knights also defeated DUC on
February 16, giving ART U the season sweep and a 17-match win streak (17-1 overall) over Dominican.

Academy of Art took two of the three doubles matches on Sunday afternoon, beginning with juniors
Paula Alcantara and
Monika Stanikova who took their contest 8-3 in the second position. No. 12-ranked twins
Alma Thell-Lenntorp and
Klara Thell-Lenntorp also took care of business in first doubles, only conceding three games as well in their 8-3 victory.

Moving into singles with a 2-1 lead, ART U only needed three wins in the six upcoming contests to come away victorious. However, the Knights went on to take five matches, winning in the first through fifth positions. Furthermore, each victory was recorded in straight sets except for in fourth singles. There, junior
Taisiia Andrieieva came back after dropping the first set, 6-7 (6-8), to win the second, 6-2, and the tiebreaker by the decisive score of 10-1.

Now at 12-4 overall, the Urban Knights have just two regular season matches left before heading to Surprise, Ariz. for the PacWest Conference Championship. Their next contest will be on Saturday, April 14 when they host Division III, UC Santa Cruz in their first home match since March 10.
