KNIGHT WATCH
Offensive rebounding continues to be a signature statistic for Academy of Art as the Urban Knights now rank 19th in NCAA Division II at 16.0 offensive boards per game. Still third in the country in offensive rebounds per contest (4.7), redshirt senior forward Pre'Franz Dominick comes into this week the PacWest leader and ranked fourth in the nation in total rebounds per game (12.2). Her 13 double-doubles are sixth in DII, she set a single-season program record (now 113) in her previous game, and she now needs just 16 boards to break the ART U record for total rebounds. The Communications & Media Technologies major also remains one of the PacWest's top scoring threats, averaging 17.6 points per game (4th in the PacWest), and a top defender with her 1.3 blocks per game (5th in PacWest).

16811There are still three Urban Knights among the PacWest's top 10 scorers with redshirt senior guard Jazzlynn Brewster coming in at ninth overall (15.7 ppg) and senior forward Helena Orts right behind at 10th (15.6 ppg). Brewster has maintained her hold on the highest assist average in the conference, dishing out 5.4 assists per game (21st in DII), and, after four versus California Baptist, she now has the second-most assists for a single-season (130) in ART U history. She is also tied for second in the conference in steals per game (2.3). With double-digit rebounds in seven of her last eight games, Orts has risen to fifth in the conference at 9.1 rebounds per game.

SHARKS' FEEDING FRENZY
Since defeating Academy of Art on Jan. 3 in Hawaii, Hawaii Pacific has yet to lose a game. The Sharks have rattled off 15 consecutive victories, have risen to the top of the PacWest standings, and now carry a No. 24 national ranking. HPU will face Fresno Pacific on Feb. 10 prior to meeting the Urban Knights in San Francisco. Hawaii Pacific offers the top scoring defense in the conference, allowing opponents just 60.9 points per game while also carrying the PacWest's highest rebounding margin at +6.7 rebounds per game. Amazingly, HPU has been so successful despite having no one player in the conference's top 10 in scoring or rebounding as Janessa Manzano's 12.6 points per game lead the way. The Sharks lead the historical matchup with ART U 10-5.

THE ARGOS ARGUMENT
Back in early December, Notre Dame de Namur and Academy of Art battled into overtime, but the end result was an 84-81 win for the Argonauts on the Knights' home floor. NDNU would go 5-4 after that, but most recently the Argos have suffered six consecutive losses and they will play Holy Names (Feb. 11) as well as No. 24 HPU (Feb. 14) before ART U comes to town on Feb. 17. Notre Dame de Namur is led by Jerusha Paine (17.4 ppg - 5th in PacWest, .542 field goal percentage - 2nd in PacWest) and Marissa Caballero (15.8 ppg - 7th in PacWest). In 18 previous meetings, Academy of Art is 13-5 all-time against the Argos.

THIRD QUARTER RUN PUTS CBU OVER ACADEMY OF ART
Two evenly-played quarters had the Urban Knights within striking distance of California Baptist, but after fortunes changed dramatically in the third quarter, the Lancers went on to win the Pacific West Conference matchup 92-62 on Feb. 5 inside the CBU Events Center. Redshirt senior forward Pre'Franz Dominick posted a game-high 28 points (17 in the first half) despite the loss.

LOOKING AHEAD
Remaining in the Bay Area for the remainder of the regular season, Academy of Art plays its final two home games against Fresno Pacific at SF State's Main Gym (Feb. 22) and Concordia at NDNU's Walter Gleason Gym (Feb. 24).
