KNIGHTS OF KNOTE (SENIOR DAY)
Kendall Brown was named one of this week's Urban Knights of the week after producing a pair of big games againstÂ
Hawaii Pacific andÂ
Notre Dame de Namur. Brown led ART U in scoring in both games and compiled a career-high, 30 points against the Argonauts on February 17. Some of his other numbers from that day include: four rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Now with 16.2 points per game, the Corona, Calif. native has the fifth-best average in the PacWest. Before Saturday's contest with the Eagles, Brown will be honored alongside senior guard
Uchenna Okeneme in a pregame ceremony honoring the team's two seniors.
Â
SUNBIRDS ON AN 8-GAME LOSING STREAK
Fresno Pacific has struggled as of late, posting only one win since December. The Sunbirds' last win came against UH Hilo on January 13. ART U and FPU last faced off on
December 30 when the Urban Knights came from behind to defeat the Sunbirds 58-57. Sam Burt has been FPU's top player this season, averaging 14.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
Â
CONCORDIA FIGHTING FOR A PLAYOFF SPOT
Currently sitting in fifth-place, The Eagles will play Notre Dame de Namur on Thursday before facing ART U on Saturday. If both teams come into Saturday's game with a win in their respective contests on Thursday, then the matchup would likely decide who will receive a berth into the PacWest tournament. The offensive player to look out for in that matchup will be JT Roach whose 16.8 points per game lead the Eagles and are ranked fourth in the conference.
PREVIOUS GAME: ART U DEFEATS NDNU, KEEPS PLAYOFF HOPES ALIVE
Feb. 17 - In a crucial, must-win game for Academy of Art, the team stepped up to the challenge with dominant defense. The Urban Knights set the program record for the least amount of points allowed (44), breaking the former mark of 49 in 2013. Their impressive defense, coupled with a career-high, 30 points from senior guardÂ
Kendall Brown, led ART U to a 75-44 victory over Notre Dame de Namur.
