PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Nov. 27)
IRVINE, Calif. – Serving as the Urban Knights and the Pacific West Conference's steals leader in three games last week, redshirt senior guard
Jazzlynn Brewster was selected as PacWest Conference Defender of the Week. The award was based on games played Nov. 20-26.
On
Nov. 22, Brewster opened three thefts against Simon Fraser, adding 13 points plus six rebounds (five defensive) and one block, then broke out for the second-most steals by an Academy of Art player in a single game with seven against Saint Martin's on
Nov. 24 to start the 20th Annual Lynda Goodrich Classic. Four of those thefts resulted in scores for ART U and the Lacey, Wash. native finished with a team-high 16 points.
Finally, the Communications & Media Technologies major was one of three Knights with two steals in a
Nov. 25 matchup with tournament host Western Washington. She also had 13 points, nine rebounds (four defensive), and six assists.
For the week, Brewster's 12 steals were the most by any player from the PacWest. On the season, the senior ranks third overall, averaging 2.8 thefts per game.
This is the first PacWest weekly honor for Brewster in her career.
