TIPPING OFF
The Academy of Art University men's basketball team continued to score at an impressive rate, but in their most recent non-conference tussle with Cal State Monterey Bay, a late push by the Otters in the second half put the game out of reach as the Knights fell 82-71. Alex Carmon had 26 points and eight rebounds while Bryan Fisher added 16 points, four rebounds, and three assists in the loss, and both were selected to the PacWest Weekly Fantastic 15.

INVADERS FROM THE NORTH
The Knights will host their final non-conference game of the season in their final game of the 2012 calendar year against Simon Fraser. The Clan, coming all the way from Burnaby, British Columbia represent the only school in Canada that participates in NCAA play. SFU is coming off a jarring 96-60 loss to Dominican on their first stop of their road trip, and the Knights are looking to continue where they left off last year, when they won in Canada by a score of 84-83. ART U will have to look out for David Gebru (17.3 ppg) and Elijah Matthews (15.0), who are leading Simon Fraser in scoring.

ON THE UP AND UP
Alex Carmon has had a fantastic start to this season, and as each game passes the redshirt freshman seems to put up a new career high. After two quiet games to start the year, Carmon burst out against Cal State East Bay with 19 points. Two weeks later he upped his career best 20 points against Notre Dame de Namur, and two weeks after that he posted his new high-water mark with 26 points against Cal State Monterey Bay. The 26 points is the second-highest on the team this year behind Ameer Shamsud-din's 27 point performance in the season opener.

ON THE REBOUND
After Wednesday's game, the Knights will have a long break for the holidays, coming back from break to start the new year in Hawai'i. They'll start the trip against Hawai'i Pacific on Saturday, Jan. 5, before heading to BYU-Hawai'i on Jan. 7 and finishing up at Chaminade on Wednesday, Jan. 9. Their next home game is not for another month, on Jan. 19 against UH Hilo.
