Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at Sonoma State Invitational

Final Round Results

Santa Rosa, CA--- The Academy of Art men's golf team finished in fourth place out of five teams on Tuesday afternoon at the Sonoma State Invitational.

Erik Majzner finished in a three way tie for seventh place out of 27 golfers, finishing the tournament with a 78-68-73--219 over three rounds. Urban Knight junior Matt Garcia shot a 75 in his final round to finish the tournament with a score of 222, placing him in a tie for 12th. Stuart Favretto tied for 20th place with a score of 235. While Carlos Nones improved on his first two days of play by shooting a 78 in his final round, and finishing 24th with a three round score of 246 (84-84-78).

Host Sonoma State took the team title with an overall score of 862. Notre Dame de Namur's Ryan Sheffer shot a two under par-70 in his second round of play and was an even par in his other rounds to capture the individual title with a 214.

As a team the Urban Knights shot 922 (315-295-312) just 23 strokes behind Notre Dame de Namur.

 The ART U men's golf team travels next to Washington State to play in two tournaments; first the St. Martins Invitational (9/24-25) and then the Western Washington Invitational (9/27-28).
