The Urban Knights Welcome NDNU for First Homecoming Game in School History

WELCOME HOME
The Urban Knights welcome the Argos of Notre Dame de Namur following their trip to Hawaii. While in Hawaii, the Urban Knights dropped three of their four contests. AAU was pit against the undefeated PacWest powerhouse, Hawaii Pacific University, in their first match-up. They were unable to knock the Sea Warriors off their throne and dropped the rematch by a score of 79-57. The Urban Knights then took on the University of Hawaii - Hilo, whom they beat earlier in the season, but dropped the contest by three points, 64-67. In their first meeting of the season, AAU dropped a 75-80 decision to the Seasiders of BYU-Hawaii. However, their trip wasn't all a bust as the Urban Knights emerged victorious over the Silverswords of Chaminade University, 77-67, in their final match before returning to San Francisco.
 
HONOR ROLL
Junior Jessica Nolan was named to the Pacific West Conference Women's Basketball Top 10 Honor Roll for the second week in a row.  The award was announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Feb. 8, for games contested Feb. 1-7.

Nolan led the PacWest in rebounding for the week as she averaged 12.3 boards per game in 1-2 week for AAU (including a season high 17 rebounds in the Urban Knights win over Chaminade University). Nolan also averaged 13.3 points per game and shot 56% (14 for 25) from the floor, ranking her eighth in the conference in shooting.

SCOUTING ARGOS

The Argos of NDNU are two spots above the Urban Knights in the PacWest standings as they sit in fourth place with a 7-4 record. The Argos also just returned from Hawaii where they won three of their four games, dropping a lone contest to Hawaii Pacific University. NDNU is led by the Zastly sisters, Laura and Katie. They lead the team in almost every category. They hold the top two spots on the team in scoring, averaging 14.9 ppg and 12.9 points respectively. They also lead in assists (60 and 58), rebounds (150 - 6.8 rpg and 146 - 6.6), steals (64 and 57).  Jennifer Dreessen is next on the team in scoring with 10.6.ppg.
 
 
LAST GAME RECAP
The Urban Knights took on the Lady Swords of Chaminade University and emerged victorious by a score of 77 to 67. Despite being down six at halftime the Urban Knights were able to come from behind to take the game, thanks to a 21 point performance by senior Sondra Stilwell. The Urban Knights also had help from three other players who managed double figures in scoring. This marks the second straight game and third overall in which AAU has had four player finish with double figures in scoring. The win bumps the Urban Knights to 7-13 overall and 3-6 in conference, while the loss drops the Silverswords to 1-13 overall and still win-less in conference.

 For the Urban Knights, Stilwell had a game high 21 points and was a perfect 7 for 7 from the free throw line. She also had 5 steals, 3 assists and 2 boards. Jessica Nolan notched her third straight double-double, finishing with 14 points and a season, and game, high 17 rebounds. In her first start of the season, Tianna Chaidez added 11 points, was 4-6 from the field and 3-4 from beyond the arc. Madeline Houston chipped in with 13 points and one assist. Verity Peets also grabbed 14 of the teams 42 rebounds.
