San Francisco, CA --- The Academy of Art University women's basketball team was on the losing end of a battle with the visiting Hawaii Pacific University Sea Warriors tonight at Kezar Pavilion in San Francisco, CA; dropping their second match in conference play 73-54. For the Urban Knights, Lorraine Etchell led the pack with 16 points, two assists, and one steal.

The Urban Knights saw themselves down 4-17 within the first 10 minutes of the contest. Verity Peets had the Knights' only points until Lorraine Etchell hit a three pointer to bring the team to within 10. HPU led by as many as 15 points but the Urban Knights continued to chip away, as they were able to get the lead to within five with one minute left in the first half. Academy of Art went into the locker room down 33-24. As a team, the Urban Knights shot 35% from the field and hit 2-8 from behind the arc. The Urban Knights did not have one free throw attempt in the half while the Sea Warriors managed 14 trips knocking down 12 of the 14.

The Urban Knights started the second half much like the first as they struggled to find an offensive groove. AAU came back from the break down nine and within the first few minutes, Peets picked up two quick fouls and the HPU lead grew to fifteen. AAU would not get closer than 14 points in the remainder half as the Sea Warriors' lead continued to grow to as many as 24 points. As a team, the Urban Knights shot 37% for the game to that of HPU, who shot 40%. However, AAU would shoot a better percentage from behind the arc as they finished shooting 33% to HPU's 12%. As a team, the Urban Knights were out rebounded 42-27.

Etchell paced the Urban Knights with 16 points. Jessica Nolan added nine points, six rebounds, one assist and four steals. Tianna Chaidez chipped in eight points off the bench, knocked down 2-5 from the three-point line, dished out two assists, and had two steals.

For the Sea Warriors, four players finished the game with double digits in scoring. Jazzmin Awa-Williams led the way with 13 points, five rebounds, and one steal. Genesis Lewis chipped in with 11 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals. While Mana Hopkins and Courtney Buster each added 10 a piece. HPU finished the game shooting 83% from the line, they earned 29 trips to the line and only missed five.
