Junior guard Rodney Munson contributed to Academy of Art men's basketball this past week with his strong play in the Urban Knights’ split of games against Western Oregon and Biola.

On the week, Munson averaged 17.0 points per game, which included him shooting above 70 percent from the field and distance, as he went 10-for-14 from the floor and 5-for-7 from three-point range. Munson co-led the squad in points (18) in the win over Western Oregon on Dec. 13 as he shot 5-for-6 in the game and was perfect on his free throws (6-for-6). In the contest against Biola on Dec. 16, the guard missed just one three-point attempt in 31 minutes, knocking down his other three. Other than just scoring, the New Orleans native tallied up 4.0 rebounds a game, averaged 3.5 assists, and recorded two steals on the 1-1 week for ART U.

Munson’s two assists levels his average at 2.0 per game on the year, placing him among leaders in the Pacific West Conference in steals per game (tied for fifth). Munson’s steals average contributes to the team’s 12.2 per game, which is ranked near the top of the rankings in the NCAA Division II pool (sixth).
