Sophomore Aleigh Krug had a trio of strong performances off the bench in a 2-1 week for ART U Women's Basketball. Beginning with her first double-double as an Urban Knight to start the Las Vegas Challenge, Krug came off the bench to score in double figures all three games, averaging 12.3 points, 2.7 blocks, and a 76.2 field goal percentage during the week.
Krug was on fire against Western Oregon on Dec. 18 as she posted 12 points along with 13 rebounds, two blocks, and an assist. She was 6-of-7 from the field which included a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor in the second half. The following afternoon, it was a 12-point, six-rebound, four-block outing for the Truckee, CA native with again just a single miss (5-of-6 FG) despite the loss. Finally, in ART U's return to PacWest Conference play, Krug went for 13 points, four rebounds, and two blocks in the 82-81 victory over California Baptist on Dec. 21.
"Aleigh gave us a huge spark off the bench," Head Coach LaNay Larson said. "She continues to get better and better as she gains confidence."
