Posting a pair of multi-RBI performances in both of ART U Softball's wins this past week, junior Taylor Thurman increased her batting average by more than 100 points in a 7-for-15 stretch over six games. The third baseman delivered six runs batted in, her second double of the year, and three runs scored, making major contributions particularly in two back-and-forth, high-scoring victories that saw the Urban Knights register double figure run totals.

Thurman initiated her second three-game hit streak of the season with a 1-for-3 performance against Sonoma State on Feb. 19 then went 1-for-2 with a run batted in and a run scored to start a twinbill with Notre Dame de Namur on Feb. 22. She would have three hits in the nightcap including a two-run single in the fourth which tied the game 6-6, helping her team eventually pull out the 10-8 win. Less than 24 hours later in a doubleheader with Central Washington on Feb. 23, Thurman was 2-for-2 in game two, notching a RBI single in the fourth to give her team a lead then slamming a two-run double in the fifth to tie things up 10-10 before her team went ahead and won 12-10. 

Thurman is now hitting .357 for the season (second on the squad) with a team-high seven RBIs in total.
