ART U Finish Best In PacWest At Sonoma, 4th Place Overall

SONOMA, Calif. –
Keeping the consistency from the first day of the Sonoma State Spring Invitational, Academy of Art men's golf stayed put in their fourth place spot after the final round, cleaning up day three and finishing with a 32-over-par 896 over the three total rounds.

Leading ART U throughout the tournament was junior Zach DuBourdieu, whose 2-over-par 218 was the best score of his time with the Urban Knights while simultaneously resulting in his best finish with his sixth place ranking out of 86 total golfers. Freshman Mario Stump came next on the squad as his 22nd place rank was additionally the best of his spring campaign while the first year totaled a 9-over-par 225, one stroke ahead of senior Giulio Zanichelli's 10-over-par 226 (23rd place). Right there with them was senior Anson Pan, whose 29th individual spot included a score of 12-over-par 228, while freshman Ekam Singh rounded out the squad and finished in the top half individually as well with an 18-over-par 234 (41st place).

Taking the team win was Cal State Monterey Bay with an 18-over-par 891, while Simon Fraser was next best with a 27-over-par 882. On the individual side, Naoki Easterday of Chico State and Simon Bjorken of CSUMB shared the title, as the pair shot a 5-under-par 211 apiece. ART U's fourth place ranking was the best of their spring campaign.

The next look at ART U will be at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational starting on Apr. 14 in Turlock, Calif., the last spring tournament before the Pacific West Conference Championship.
