Saturday's games will be Cancer Awareness Day, serving as an opportunity to honor and remember those who have battled the disease, celebrate survivors, and raise awareness for ongoing research and support.

KNIGHT WATCH
Kamielle PowellSix of the nine Urban Knights with at least one run batted in have driven in multiple teammates thus far as senior utility Alexis Folks paces the squad with six runs batted in while junior infielder Audrey Allen follows with five plus the squad's lone homer and two doubles. Freshman outfielder Danielle Shinko has logged multiple hits in three of her last four outings to build a team-best .314 batting average.

In the pitching circle, junior Kamielle Powell (1-5) ranks third in the PacWest in strikeouts (28) over her 37.2 innings pitched (ninth in PacWest) while freshman Kayla Vaughan (0-7) is slightly ahead at 41.1 innings pitched (seventh in PacWest).

PENGUIN POINTERS
Even at 2-2 in conference play and nearly .500 with a 10-8 record, Dominican was slated to finish tied with Vanguard for sixth in the PacWest Preseason Poll and coincidentally comes off a split with the Lions after the Penguins won three of five games in each of their two non-conference tournaments while also sweeping Stanislaus State in between. For DU, ranked third in the PacWest in stolen bases (28) and first in strikeouts (68), Melissa Garcia's .377 batting average, Taylor Rodriguez's (5-0) 1.45 ERA (third in PacWest), and Kassidy Stetler's (1-3) 29 strikeouts lead the way. A storied rivalry has seen ART U and DU battle 68 times previously with the Knights firmly in front 42-26 all time.

ART U OFFENSE ERUPTS FOR NINE RUNS IN FINALE WITH SFU
A season-best 11 hits including a three-run double from junior infielder Audrey Allen ultimately produced nine runs for Academy of Art softball in its second game of a Feb. 19 doubleheader with Simon Fraser, but consistent offense by the Red Leafs proved to be too much as the visitors followed up their 5-0 win in the first contest with a 15-9 victory in the day's conclusion.

ON THE HORIZON
As PacWest play continues, ART U will travel to Biola for a four-game series spanning Mar. 7-8.
