2024 Nighthawk Invitational Results (Round 1)

PLEASANTON, Calif. – Academy of Art men's golf completed the first round of the Nighthawk Invitational hosted at Callippe Preserve Golf Course, as the Urban Knights ended their opening day with a combined score of 22-over-par 310. 

Leading the way for ART U by the end of the first round was senior Allan Osornio with a 5-over-par 76, as he saw three birdies fall in his first play through. Just one stroke behind is junior Giulio Zanichelli, shooting a 5-over-par 77. With the next three Knights all one after another in total strokes, sophomore Jerah Venkaiya was next up on the squad, shooting a 6-over-par 78, with senior Jack DeBenedetti right behind with a 7-over-par 79, and freshman Miguel Mendoza following up with his 8-over-par 80.

Through one round, Patrick Jaksch of Cal State San Marcos, Brock Yurkovich of Westmont, and Braxton McDonald of Western Washington all share the lead in a three-way tie for first place individually, as they all shot a 3-under-par 69. Cal State East Bay led the tournament as a team through the first day, delivering a 4-under-par 284 collectively with a four-stroke lead over Western Washington in second place.

The Nighthawk Invitational concludes tomorrow with round two at 8 a.m.
