Hanny Stanislaus Invitational (Rounds 1 & 2)

TURLOCK, Calif. – Over at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational, Academy of Art men's golf entered four players as individuals who shot a combined 14-over-par 614 on the day with 15 total birdies coming from those members.

Junior Giulio Zanichelli had six of those birdies in his second round alone, where he finished the round with a 2-under-par 70, and the first day of action with a 2-over-par 146. Junior Anson Pan improved on his second round of the first day as well, tallying a 2-over-par 74, and finished day one with an 8-over-par 152. Freshman Miguel Mendoza came in right behind, completing the first two rounds with his 11-over-par 155. Senior Jack DeBenedetti was next, finishing with a 17-over-par 161. 

On the team leaderboard, Cal State San Bernardino paces the tournament with a 20-under-par 556, as the host in Stanislaus State trails by just three strokes with their 17-under-par 559. Tied for first in singles play, John Kim of CSUSB shot an 8-under-par 64 in his second round to climb 21 spots on the leaderboard to finish day one with an 8-under-par 136, while Simon Bjorken of Cal State Monterey Bay has an identical score overall.

The players will hit the links again tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. for the last round at the Turlock Golf & Country Club.
