Otter Invitational (Final Results)

SEASIDE, Calif. – It's no surprise that Academy of Art men's golf senior Giulio Zanichelli finished within the top 10 competitors as he's done so in all four of his competitions of 2024. Zanichelli led the way for ART U while at the Otter Invitational from Bayonet Golf Course, as he ended in a tie for sixth place with a final score of an even-par 216 while the squad collected a 12th place 29-over-par 903.

Zanichelli shot consistently throughout the tournament as he hovered around par with help from his second round eagle on Hole 1. The only two upperclassmen on the squad led by example at the Otter Invitational, as senior Anson Pan joined Zanichelli in the top two spots on the squad as he finished the tournament out with a 7-over-par 223. Pan's first round 2-under-par 70 tied his best individual round of the fall campaign as he went back-to-back with them following his third round of the Wildcat Classic on Oct. 8

The trio of first-years closed the rankings out for ART U as freshman Mario Stump led the others with his 11-over-par 227 while freshman Ekam Singh had a 24-over-par 240 and freshman Kok Siew "Andy" Chew contained a 29-over-par 245.

Cal State East Bay in the end managed to hold off a strong push from Cal State Monterey Bay who caught up by 10 strokes in the third round, but it was the Pioneers who would take the tournament as a team with a 4-over-par 868, winning by three strokes. Jack Hayden of Santa Clara wound up with the individual tournament win as his 5-under-par 211 snuck away from three others just a stroke back.

As the Otter Invitational wrapped up the fall campaign for ART U, the Knights will be back in competition as they'll kick off the spring season at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational in Vista, Calif. on Feb. 10.
