KNIGHT WATCH

Currently fourth in the PacWest in defensive points allowed (66.9) and free throw percentage (.713), Academy of Art adds the fifth-most steals per game in the conference (7.75).
Sophomore guard
Jadence Clifton remains the Knights' leading scorer at 10.9 points per game (18th in PacWest) with two others also in double figures in sophomore forward/center
Alisha Wilson (10.3) and senior guard
Lauryn Manns (10.0). Clifton (2.3) and Wilson (2.2) also find themselves among the conference's top six in steals per game while Wilson, who has three double-doubles in her six games played (17 in her career to sit 10 behind the program leader), adds the PacWest's second-highest rebounds per game average (9.3). Sophomore forward/center
Christy Ojide is one of seven PacWest women's basketball student-athletes logging at least one block per contest, ranking tied for second (1.3).
WE'RE CHAMMIN'
Still in search of its first win of the season through six tries, Chaminade's closest game thus far in the Silverswords' 2022-23 campaign was an 88-73 loss to Multnomah on Nov. 16 as losses to Hawaii Pacific and UH Hilo began conference action. CUH, whose first contest on the mainland will be this weekend, is led offensively by Olivia Crigler's 13.3 points per game (eighth in PacWest) along with an 11.5 average (12th in PacWest) from Dallas Martinez who ranks second in the conference in free throw percentage (.897). Returning to its winning ways with two wins in the most recent meetings, ART U is up 19-3 historically versus Chaminade.
SECOND HALF SCORING EDGE NOT ENOUGH IN HOME OPENER
Academy of Art women's basketball senior guard
Lauryn Manns delivered a game-high 17 points and freshman forward/center
Alisha Wilson posted a double-double, but it was not enough for the Urban Knights in their 2022-23 home opener as Sonoma State jumped in front early and outlasted an ART U six-point scoring edge in the second half for the 62-51 victory inside Walter Gleason Gym on Dec. 6.
LOOKING AHEAD
Two more PacWest home games will take place prior to the Urban Knights' nine-day break from competition in late December as Azusa Pacific (Dec. 17) and Biola (Dec. 19) visit the Bay Area next.
