2021 Academy of Art Invitational (Day One Results)

NAPA, Calif. – Playing host to the Academy of Art Invitational at the Silverado Resort, ART U men's golf finds itself in third place after the first round of action as the Urban Knights combined for a 26-over-par 314.

Senior Otto Homruen is pacing the Urban Knights in round one, currently placing eighth at 5-over-par 77 thanks to a team-high three birdies. Fellow senior Gabriel De Leon Manotoc and freshman Jack DeBenedetti are just one stroke back of Homruen, with both coming in just outside of the top-10 in a tie for 13th place after identical 6-over-par 78's. DeBenedetti would also end up with three birdies during his round, while Manotoc finished up his back-nine holes at 1-under-par.

As a unit, the Urban Knights trail first place Cal State East Bay by 15 strokes, as the Pioneers captured the team lead by combining to shoot an 11-over-par 299 while also boasting the top individual performer in Won Jun Lee (1-under-par 71). Finishing up the scoring for ART U is junior Julius Kreutzer, as the defending PacWest Golfer of the Week is currently in a tie for 15th at 9-over-par 81. 

The Urban Knights will look for another great second round, much like they had to close out the Pioneer Shootout, as they wrap up the Academy of Art Invitational on Tuesday.
