KNIGHT WATCH
It was a split of games between the Urban Knights and Humboldt State last week, with both games going to the wire and one needing double overtime to be decided. Friday's contest was the one to provide extra basketball, as ART U scored the last four points of regulation to force overtime. One five minute period wasn't enough as the teams were still tied, but in the second extra frame the Jacks were able to take control and barely
outlast the Knights by a final of 89-87. The defeat came despite a season-high 27 points and four assists from redshirt senior guard
Dante Williams, as well as a double-double from senior forward
Josh Hill with 10 points and 16 rebounds.Â
Two days later
ART U would get its revenge, posting season bests in points, shooting percentage and assists while five players scored in double figures
in a 93-89 victory over the Jacks. The 93 points wereÂ
the sixth-most points in a single game in ART U history and came on a total of 21 assists, a mark that isÂ
tied for the seventh most in a single game. Seven of those assists belonged to senior guard
Joshua Bagley, tying theÂ
career-high he first set in Dec. 2019 against Cal State San Bernardino. Hill posted his seventh double-double of the season in 10 games with 16 points and 11 rebounds, while redshirt junior guard
Jalen Lovett led the way with his second 20-point game of the season after recording 21 points on 8-for-12 (66.7 percent) shooting.Â

Senior guard
Stefan Milivojevic remains the team's top scorer with a 16.6 points per game average on the strength of 41.3 percent, while Hill continues to average a double-double at 15.2 points per game and 12.6 rebounds per game. With seven on the season, Hill is tied for 14th in all of the nation in double-doubles, topping his highest appearance in the category during last season. Bagley's 4.1 assists per game are a team high, while Hill also leads the team in steals per game with 1.5.Â
Â
RECORD CHASING
With his first bucket against Dominican on Feb. 13, Milivojevic became the first player inÂ
ART U men's basketball history to reach 1,000 points, joining women's basketball alumni Jasmin Guinn, Regina Camera, Zoie Sheng, and Sha'Nice Storey in the Urban Knights 1,000-point club.Â
Â
A strong year on the glass means that Hill now has 371 rebounds in his ART U career, just six boards shy of second place in ART UÂ
career rebounds behind former teammateÂ
Victor Ruiz de Carranza's 377. The senior forward continues to increase his lead in career rebounding average with the Urban Knights, snatching an impressive 9.3 rebounds per game in 40 career contests.
SHUTTING DOWN THE SUNBIRDS
Fresno Pacific comes into the matchup undefeated in PacWest NorCal play, having already clinched the NorCal Pod Championship last week against Dominican. Currently the Sunbirds boast a five-game winning streak, and have won nine of their last 10 contests overall. Forward Aamondae Coleman is averaging a whopping 19.8 points per game, shooting 57.4 percent from the field. FPU leads the all-time matchup against ART U, 12-5.Â
MARCH OF THE PENGUINS
Dominican comes into the matchup at 2-5, having played all PacWest games against the Knights and Sunbirds. Looking to snap a three-game losing streak, the Penguins enter the game led by Jalen Ragsdale and his 16.4 points per game, while Romeo Mays is the team-leader in rebounds with 8.4 per game. In four matchups this season, the two teams are split down the middle at 2-2, but the Penguins hold the 18-8 edge over ART U in the all-time matchup.Â
