Eagerly awaiting the tip off of its first game in 11 months, Academy of Art women's basketball sits ready to make its 2020-21 debut this week. Gritty physical and mental preparations have steadily built toward the grind of a season like no other and Head Coach Krystle Evans remains dedicated to unity through it all.

Alyssa MunnAfter initial changes to the schedule, ART U now starts its 2020-21 campaign with back-to-back games against Fresno Pacific this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5-6. For a more in-depth look at the 2020-21 schedule, click here!

The Urban Knights' senior class includes guards Lily Perkins and Shyla Miller along with forward Megan Jefferson. Carrying the most starts among returners from last year, Jefferson enters this campaign as one of the program's top 14 in total career rebounds.

Joining guard Chanel Stuart among the juniors will be a pair of transfers in guards Ladun Akako and Lauryn Manns. Ever the versatile player, Stuart enters this year among the program's top 10 in career average of rebounds, assists, blocks, and steals per game. Akako brings both international experience along with her time at Iowa Western Community College while Manns showed her strong offensive and defensive skillset while at Mt. San Antonio College.

Following her redshirt season with Academy of Art after transferring from Eastern Kentucky, sophomore guard Hailey McCoy returns to competitive action for the first time in nearly two years and will be making her ART U debut alongside freshmen guards Brooke Rodgers (Cactus Shadows), Kaila Murrell (St. Anthony's), and Alyssa Munn (Redondo Union). The first-year trio come with a competitive fire that took each deep into their respective high school postseasons.

On the eve of the start to the program's 13th season, Academy of Art is poised to unite as an indestructible family when the Urban Knights step onto the court this week.
