KNIGHTS AND SUNBIRDS SET FOR THIRD AND FOURTH MATCHUPS OF 2021
Coming off a game that Academy of Art women's basketball controlled for nearly three quarters, the Urban Knights is slated to have two opportunities to close the deal against Fresno Pacific in a Pacific West Conference a home/road series this week.

Academy of Art looks to play its first home game of the season this Friday, Feb. 19 at 4 p.m. inside Walter Gleason Gym in Belmont. KNIGHT WATCH
In two pairings with Fresno Pacific thus far, Academy of Art has registered 18 total steals for an average of 9.0 thefts per game which leads the PacWest Conference. On top of that, ART U's strong defense has led the Sunbirds to turn the ball over 20.5 times per game with 26 points coming off those miscues. The offense has come from a variety of places as three Urban Knights have score in double figures in each contest.
Academy of Art is currently led by freshman guard
Brooke Rodgers' 11.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game following her first collegiate double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds on
Feb. 13. Junior guard
Lauryn Manns posted a game-high 17 points last weekend and now ranks second on the team in scoring at 11.0 points per contest while adding 5.5 rebounds per outing as well. Freshman guard
Alyssa Munn is the third Knight averaging double figures offensively at 10.5 points per game.
WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT FRESNO
Fresno Pacific's impromptu matchup with Academy of Art on Feb. 13 came in between two non-conference meetings with Azusa Pacific. A 79-69 loss came at the hands of the Cougars in Fresno on Feb. 9 and APU once again prevailed 75-70 in Azusa most recently on Feb. 16. For the now 4-4 Sunbirds, Rachel Berry continues to lead the scoring charge at 15.4 points per game (seventh in PacWest) while Bayli McClard adds 14.9 points and a team-best 10.1 rebounds per contest (second in PacWest). An even historical matchup between ART U and Fresno Pacific has FPU with a slight 8-7 edge.
