Saint Martin's Invitational Final Results

LACEY, Wash. – The Urban Knights finished their first tournament of the fall in a tie for sixth, after shooting a 3-under-par 285 in the final round of the Saint Martin's Invitational on Saturday morning at The Home Course.

"The whole team gave a solid performance this week," said head coach Andy Moren. "It was nice to start the year off like that."

Junior Otto Homruen was ART U's top finisher, in a tie for 16th, after an even 72 resulted in a 3-under-par 213 cumulatively for a new career-best three-round score. Junior Julius Kreutzer had the best Urban Knight round of the entire tournament, with a career-low 4-under-par 68 on four birdies and 14 pars. The excellent final round saw Kreutzer rise 22 spots in the standings for a 22nd place finish in his first tournament for Academy of Art.

Junior Zhane Chan ended his debut tournament tied for 28th after a final round of 3-over-par 75 for a cumulative 217. Senior Gabriel De Leon Manotoc rounded out the ART U scorers with a 2-over-par 74 resulting in a 40th place finish with a total of 219 strokes. 

"Julius and Zhane both had positive impacts," said Moren. "We believe they are capable of some great things."

Although ART U ended in sixth, the tournament was so close that the Urban Knights were just two strokes from tying for third. Simon Fraser took the team title with a 31-under-par 833 and British Columbia's Ethan de Graaf won the individual by shooting 12-under-par 204. 

Academy of Art will face a quick turnaround as they continue their tour of the Pacific Northwest with a stop in Bellingham, Wash. at the Western Washington Invitational starting Monday, Sept. 23. 

"It is nice to have another tournament soon after, we will look to keep the momentum from this week."
