NDNU Argonaut Invitational Day One Results

LIVERMORE, Calif. -- The Academy of Art men's golf team hit the links for the first day of the NDNU Argonaut Invitational at the Poppy Ridge Golf Course and landed tied for the sixth spot after the first two rounds with a cumulative score of 605.
 
It was junior Gabriel De Leon Manotoc who lead the Urban Knights, ending in a three way tie for the eighth after finishing with a 72 (E) and 75 (+3) in the first two rounds, respectively. Manotoc had an impressive showing in the first round, sinking three birdies and an eagle on the 17th hole. The junior Communications and Media Technologies major also shot three birdies in the second round and ended with the best score on par-5's shooting a stellar -6 on the lengthy holes.
 
Behind Manotoc, tied for 18th was junior Otto Homruen who finished the day with scores of 74 (+2) and 76 (+4) in the first two rounds, respectively. Homruen also finished with six birdies on the day. The next scorer for ART U was senior Lawrence Liang, who ended the day tied for 34th after put up a 78 (+6) round one and a 75 (+3) round two. Sophomore Matthew Watkins finished the day in a tied 46th after two rounds, while senior Oskar Frick ended in a tie for the 58th position.
 
Academy of Art will be back on the links of Poppy Ridge Golf course for the final day of the Argonauts Invitational tomorrow at 8 a.m.
