ART U HOSTS FRESNO PACIFIC
ART U will close out their successful six game home stand, which saw them defeat No. 12 Chaminade, with Fresno Pacific on Jan. 12. An important game for the Urban Knights, as the Sunbirds sit just one place above Academy of Art in the PacWest standings.

KNIGHT WATCH
Lockdown defense continues to be the cornerstone of Academy of Art men's basketball, who comes into the week giving up the third fewest points per game in the PacWest (68.1). Junior forward Andrija Blatancic is coming off PacWest Player of the Week honors (Jan. 7), after a week in which he secured two double-doubles, scored 81 points, shot 69 percent from the field, and led the Urban Knights to one of their biggest wins in program history. Blatancic leads the team and is fifth in the PacWest in points per game with 17.1. Senior guard Cobe Williams is ART U's second highest scorer, averaging 7.9 points per game. The senior guard more often facilitates the scoring with his team leading 2.9 assists per game.  

SUNBIRDS HEATING UP
Fresno Pacific enters their game against the Urban Knights having won three of their last four games. FPU earned their first win early in the season, when they defeated Montana State Billings 73-65. The Sunbirds captured their first PacWest victory over Hawaii Pacific 67-54. FPU's most notable win however came on New Year's Eve when they were the first team to defeat No. 12 Chaminade just two nights before ART U did the same. The Sunbirds barely edged the SIlverswords by a score of 74-72 in the Special Events Center in Fresno, California. Elijah Hill is FPU's leading scorer, averaging 13.8 points per game. He is trailed closely by Aamondae Coleman who averages 13.5 points per game. The Sunbirds are 2-4 all-time against the Knights, and lost the most recent encounter 69-71.

EAGLES DEFEAT KNIGHTS IN STEADY BATTLE
Academy of Art men's basketball made a late second half push and trailed by just five points with two minutes to play, but ART U was unable to complete the come back against Biola and fell 62-54. Read More.

LOOKING AHEAD
After finishing a six game home stand, Academy of Art will be away at Dominican and Holy Names on Jan. 17 and 19 before traveling to southern California for a rematch against Concordia and Point Loma on Jan 24 and 26 respectively.
