PacWest Conference Women's Track & Field Weekly Awards (Mar. 7)
IRVINE, Calif. – In her and Academy of Art University's 2018 outdoor track & field debut at Stanislaus State's Kim Duyst Invitational,
Hannah Hensley secured a pair of first-place finishes to earn Pacific West Conference Women's Field Athlete of the Week. The award was based on competition from Feb. 26 – Mar. 4.
Hensley was busy in the field events at the
Mar. 3 meet, beginning with the long jump where she placed first of 27 competitors with a strong 17-11.5 (5.47m) on both her fourth and fifth attempts. Mere hours later, she would deliver the day's highlight with a provisional-qualifying 5-7.75 (1.72m) in the high jump. The only jumper to clear 5-6 (1.68m), Hensley surpassed the next height, but could not top 5-9.75 (1.77m) and settled for the aforementioned mark which makes her currently the NCAA Division II leader as well as third across all NCAA divisions thus far.
This is the third PacWest weekly honor for Hensley in her career after she earned two last season before being named
2017 PacWest Field Athlete of the Year.
