Otter Invitational Final Results
PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – After playing a total of 14 holes in the final round of the Otter Invitational, play was called due to unplayable wet weather conditions. As a result, the tournament reverted to an 18-hole event, counting Monday's first round totals as the final scores. Therefore, Academy of Art finished in third place with freshman
Anahi Servin snagging the third individual spot and a place on the All-Tournament Team.
Â
Servin led the Urban Knights after shooting a 72 (+1) on Monday while collecting three birdies on holes eight, nine, and 18.
Â
"Anahi kept her focus and put herself in position to get birdies," said head coach
Elaine Harris. "Her focus was where it needed to be and she was mentally strong this tournament."
Â
Two strokes behind was senior
Sterling Hawkins (74) and she tied for eighth-place. Senior
Shu-lin Lin was the third scorer for ART U with 76 strokes (tied for 24th). Lastly, sophomore
Elan Hawkins tied for 54th with a total of 79 strokes. Each Urban Knight impressed on at least one hole as all five Knights scored one or more birdies.
Â
"It was tough conditions on both days, so I was really happy with the girls' mental strength," said Harris. "Today, their morale was great despite finishing 14 holes before the tournament was called."
Â
Now having finished in the top three in each of their four tournaments this spring, Academy of Art will return to action April 2-3 at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational. Â
