No. 6 Academy of Art versus Stanislaus State Final Results
TURLOCK, Calif. – Newly ranked as No. 6 in the nation, Academy of Art women's tennis celebrated their highest ranking in program history with a dominant, 6-3 win over Stanislaus State.

The Urban Knights nearly swept the doubles portion of Saturday's contest, taking two of three matches. Sophomore
Mariacristina Andrisani and junior
Taisiia Andrieieva were the only pair to fall, despite a close 8-7 (7-5) score.

In singles, ART U took four of the six matches with wins coming in the second, third, fourth, and fifth positions. Junior
Paula Alcantara posted a big win in fifth singles, winning the first set 6-1 and then finishing with a 10-5 score in the tiebreaker.

"The team has been working really hard and it definitely showed today," said head coach
Clarisse Baca.

Now with a five-game winning streak, the Urban Knights will have over a week to prepare for rival, No. 3 Hawaii Pacific on March 6. First serve will be at 9:00 a.m. at The Bay Club.
