ART U WELCOMES COUGARS TO KEZAR PAVILION
Following an extended departure from competitions, Academy of Art women's basketball looks ahead to one more Pacific West Conference matchup before the holiday break. ART U is set to host Azusa Pacific this week in what will be the start of a six-game homestand spanning 25 days.

KNIGHT WATCH
19135Remaining third in the PacWest in rebounds per game (42.0), Academy of Art is led by a trio among the conference's top 12. After a career-high 13 rebounds versus Notre Dame de Namur, her third game in double-figures this year, sophomore forward Megan Jefferson ranks third in the PacWest at 9.2 boards per game. Junior forward Ines Medina was just three rebounds shy of her third double-double at NDNU and sits fourth at 9.0 rebounds to go with 11.0 points per contest. The third Urban Knight among the PacWest's rebound leaders is freshman guard Chanel Stuart who averages 7.4 boards per game while pacing the conference and remaining 20th in the country in steals per game (3.2). She has also put up 14.2 points per game which is second on the team behind junior guard Brianna Cates whose 18.2 points per contest is now third in the PacWest.

COUGARS INCOMING
Currently one of three undefeated teams in PacWest play, Azusa Pacific started the season with three victories, lost three in a row including an overtime pairing with Western Washington, and have since rattled off five straight wins. The 5-0 Cougars will meet the 4-0 Dominican Penguins tonight before taking on Academy of Art this Wednesday. APU leads the PacWest in a variety of categories including steals (11.3), blocks (4.5), and turnover margin (6.09) thanks in large part to Zoe March (12.3 points, 4.8 assists, 2.7 steals per game), Savannah Hanson (15.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.6 steals per game), and Laura Pranger (9.5 points, 1.8 blocks per game). ART U has faced the Cougars nine times over the past five years and trails APU 6-3 in the historical matchup.

WOMEN'S HOOPS DROPS 66-46 CONTEST AT NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR
Battling back from a hot start by Notre Dame de Namur, Academy of Art University women's basketball was right with their Bay Area Pacific West Conference opponent early in the second quarter, but ended up falling 66-46 inside Walter Gleason Gym on Dec. 8.

LOOKING AHEAD
Continuing its homestand just prior to the start of the 2019 calendar year, ART U will next host Hawaii Pacific (Dec. 31), Chaminade (Jan. 2), UH Hilo (Jan. 4), and Biola (Jan. 7) in the week that it returns.
