IRVINE, Calif. – Academy of Art's strong 2017 season just became more impressive with the announcement of team's five All-PacWest awards, the most in program history. Among the honorees is junior
Sterling Hawkins who was named the 2017 PacWest Women's Golfer of the Year.

Sterling Hawkins (Golfer of the Year, All-PacWest First Team)

Hawkins is in the midst of the best season of her career. The San Jose, Calif. native won two titles this year and finished in the top 10 in all, but one tournament. Her average score of 76.36 leads the team and she is currently ranked No. 5 in the region and 40th in the nation. This is the second All-PacWest honor for Hawkins as she was named to the Second Team in
2016. Sterling is also the second ART U women's golfer to receive this award after
Crystal Wang was named Co-Player of the Year in
2015.

Shu-lin Lin (All-PacWest Second Team)

Lin finished within the top five in four tournaments and in the top 20 in all, but two. Her highest placing this year was a tie for third at the Dennis Rose Invitational. This is the second time that the Game Development major has received an All-PacWest award after being named Freshman of the Year in
2015 and receiving a First Team honor.
Han-Chuan "Vicky" Kuo (All-PacWest Second Team)

In her first collegiate season, Kuo made an instant impact, finishing second in her third tournament, the
Sonoma State Fall Invitational. She finished within the top ten at four invitationals including a tie for fifth at the
PacWest Championship.

Elan Hawkins (All-PacWest Third Team)
Â
Also in her first season with the Urban Knights, Hawkins was a strong contributor. Her highest finish was a tie for ninth at the PacWest Championship. Hawkins also finished in the top ten in her collegiate debut, the
Art of Golf Classic. The Industrial Design major finished the season with a stroke average of 80.11.

Roxanne Matta (All-PacWest Third Team)

In her senior season, Matta receives her second All-PacWest award after being named to the Second Team in
2015. This year, she finished as high as fifth at the
Dennis Rose Invitational and placed within the top 15 individuals in four tournaments with an average score of 81.28.
