No. 11 Academy of Art vs. Middlebury College Final Results
AZUSA, Calif. – Looking to keep their winnings ways alive, No. 11 Academy of Art women's tennis pushed their 2017 SoCal record to 3-1 when they defeated No. 7 (NCAA Division III) Middlebury College 5-4 on Sunday.

The Urban Knights relied on strong doubles play once again to snag the victory. Taking two of three matches, ART U won their first two points in the first and second positions. No. 11 sophomores
Alma Thell-Lenntorp and
Klara Thell-Lenntorp were strong up top, winning their match by a score of 8-4. Contested in second doubles, senior
Annika Schneider and sophomore
Taisiia Andrieieva came away victorious in the second position, edging their Panther adversaries 8-6.

Needing three wins in singles to take their 11th match of the season, Academy of Art did just that, going 3-3 with Middlebury out of six contests. Two of the Urban Knights' wins headed to a third set including Schneider who took her contest by a score of 6-4, 1-6, 6-3 and K. Thell-Lenntorp who came from behind 6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-2. Her sister, A. Thell-Lenntorp snagged the final point in fifth singles with a 6-2, 6-3 win.

ART U will play one more match before heading back north, taking on No. 21 Azusa Pacific on Tuesday, March 28 at 1:30 p.m.
