No. 22 Academy of Art vs. No. 13 UC San Diego Final Results

LA JOLLA, Calif. – No. 22 Academy of Art women's tennis headed to Southern California for another weekend of tough competition. Their first match of the trip came against No. 13 UC San Diego. In their hunt for a fourth-consecutive upset this season, the Urban Knights came up short, falling to the Tritons 5-1.
 
ART U's lone win in doubles was credited to the No. 5-ranked sophomores Alma Thell-Lenntorp and Klara Thell-Lenntorp. The twins took the match in first doubles by a solid score of 8-4. In the third position, sophomores Paula Alcantara and Mokina Stanikova did not go down without a fight and were edged 8-6 by their UCSD adversaries.
 
In singles, the Tritons were dominant again, taking first, third, and sixth singles to clinch the 5-1 victory. All of the other matches were left unfinished as their results would not have affected the final score.
 
The Urban Knights will play one more match before returning home, taking on No. 29 Cal State LA on Saturday at Noon.
