No. 22 Academy of Art versus University of Texas of the Permian Basin Final Results

SOUTHLAKE, Texas – After traveling to Texas, No. 22 Academy of Art women's tennis did not skip a beat. In their first of three matches in the Lone Star State, the Urban Knights swept the University of Texas of the Permian Basin Falcons 9-0.

In doubles, ART U outscored UTPB 24-7. The No. 5 duo sophomores
Alma Thell-Lenntorp and
Klara Thell-Lenntorp took care of business in the first position, defeating their opponents 8-3. In second doubles, sophomore
Monika Stanikova and senior
Annika Schneider took their match by the same score and sophomore
Paula Alcantara and freshman
Mariacristina Andrisani only surrendered one game in their 8-1 victory.

The Urban Knights were dominant in singles as well, taking all 6 six points to complete the sweep. Stanikova went 6-0, 6-1 against her opponent in first singles and No. 34 K. Thell-Lenntorp did not drop a game in her 6-0, 6-0 defeat of the Falcons' Krissy Chavez. Andrisani put together an impressive performance in the second position. After taking the first set 7-5, Andrea Villalobos took six games in the second. However, the Matera, Italy native held on for the victory after edging her opponent 8-6 in the tiebreaker.

Academy of Art, now 3-0 on the season will look to capture their fourth win on Saturday when they face Cameron at Noon CST.Â
