ART U SEEKS FIRST WIN ON ROAD AT CSUMB
Following two losses of four points or less in its own West Region Tip-Off Classic, Academy of Art University women's basketball continues its non-conference season this week at Cal State Monterey Bay.

KNIGHT WATCH

Two games into the season, Academy of Art ranks third in the Pacific West Conference in scoring defense, allowing opponents 62.0 points per game. An All-Tournament Team selection, redshirt senior guard
Jazzlynn Brewster comes into this week averaging 20.5 points per game which ranks fifth in the PacWest. Her 14 made free throws are also third-most in the conference. Fellow senior forward
Helena Orts comes off a career-high-tying seven-steal performance against Cal State East Bay and currently sits in second in steals per game (3.5) among PacWest competitors. She adds a team-high 7.0 rebounds per game average (15th in the conference).
OTTER OBSERVATIONS
Opening their season in Turlock, Calif. for the CCAA/GNAC Challenge last weekend, Cal State Monterey Bay is still in search of its first win. The Otters fell to Concordia Portland 64-51 then dropped a 96-69 score to Northwest Nazarene. Despite shooting 33.3 percent from the field in her first two games, Aubri Smith is putting up team-highs of 15.0 points and 4.5 assists per game. After ART U's
72-70 win over the Otters in 2016, the historical matchup has CSUMB slightly ahead of the Urban Knights 4-2.
WEST REGION TIP-OFF ENDS WITH CSUEB OUTLASTING ART U
Back inside Kezar Pavilion to conclude the West Region Tip-Off Classic on Nov. 11, Academy of Art University women's basketball found itself in another dogfight. This time, it was Cal State East Bay who took the Urban Knights into the final minutes and wound up holding on for the 56-52 win after missed scoring chances by ART U.
LOOKING AHEAD
A three-game week is on the horizon for Academy of Art with a trip north to Canada to face Simon Fraser (Nov. 22) then contests against Saint Martin's (Nov. 24) and Western Washington (Nov. 25) on tap as part of the Linda Goodrich Classic.
