On the first two days of action, the Urban Knights posted 14 combined wins including Friday when all competitors except for one emerged with victories. The action led to the final day when ART U was involved in five matches excluding consolation and round robin brackets.

In singles, K. Thell-Lenntorp entered the third set tied with Jensyn Warren from Sonoma State. However, Warren eventually won the set and match with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 score. Earlier in the day, K. Thell-Lenntorp and junior Monika Stanikova faced off in the semifinals, but Stanikova was forced to retire in the second set, giving Alma the win. In the Red Singles bracket, junior Paula Alcantara squared off with Clarisa Colling from SSU in the semifinals, but was also forced to retire in the second set, defaulting the win to her opponent. The twins were highlight of the tournament as their efforts culminated in their second doubles title of the fall: Alma and Klara dispatched their Sonoma State adversaries in the final by the score of 8-5.

"Alma and Klara are natural born competitors," said interim coach Dillon Porter. "They communicate well and often, which is very important in doubles. They also have fantastic shot selection and quick reflexes."

The Urban Knights will now return home where they will make preparations for their first match of the spring when they face University of the Pacific on January 26.

"The team has been through a lot this semester and it was important to stay mentally tough," said Porter. "We strived to play in the present with a lot of positive affirmations. Overall, I'd say we did very well."
