BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Improving a total of six strokes over their first-round score, Academy of Art women's golf roared into third place for their second-consecutive top-three finish. Leading the way were three Urban Knights who placed in the top 10.

Of those three, senior
Sterling Hawkins posted ART U's best score, shooting a 72 (-1) in the final round to tie for fifth with 149 strokes overall (+3). On Tuesday, Hawkins shot a team-high, two birdies and was one of only three players to finish under par in the tournament.

The other two Knights to finish in the top 10 were sophomore
Elan Hawkins and freshman
Iveta Posledni who both tied for eighth-place with 151 strokes each. E. Hawkins scored a 75 and a 76 in the first and second rounds respectively while Posledni shot a 77 in the first round and improved three strokes to a 74 in the second. The final scorer for Academy of Art was freshman
Anahi Servin whose 157 total strokes garnered a tie for 20th.

Overall, the Urban Knights finished the tournament with 605 strokes, just two behind second-place British Columbia and seven back from the team-champion, California Baptist. Academy of Art scored the most pars in the tournament (127) and averaged the second-lowest score on Par-4s (4.24) and Par-5s (5.05).

ART U will now return home to make preparations for their final tournament of the fall, the Sonoma State Intercollegiate Golf Invitational, running October 16-17.Â
