She ranks fifth in the conference in runs batted in with 32 thus far to go with four home runs, 11 multi-hit games, and seven multi-RBI performances.

Freshman infielder Juliana Lopez has reached base in 24 straight games and is hitting .343 on the year while junior outfielder Jessica West carries a .336 batting average with a team-high 27 runs scored (13th in PacWest) and five steals in six attempts. In the circle, Mitchell (8-8) is 12th in the PacWest in ERA (2.58) and has nine complete games in 106.0 innings pitched. Hunter Allen (2-4) dropped her ERA to 3.89 at the Tournament of Champions.

ON THE AR-GO
11936Since splitting with ART U back on Mar. 25 in Brisbane, Notre Dame de Namur swept Holy Names then went 1-5 at the Tournament of Champions, defeating Stanislaus State 9-8. The Argonauts are 7-13 in PacWest play and just 1-8 at home, having hosted Dixie State and California Baptist during a 0-8 losing streak in mid-March. NDNU is led by a trio hitting .300 or higher, Haley Stahl, Tivoli Sisco, and Toni Cardoza, as well as Shelby Reali (4-13) who owns a 4.06 ERA and 11 complete games in 98.1 innings pitched. The teams remain even in the all-time series: 14-14.

TALKIN' HAWKS
Academy of Art swept Holy Names in the East Bay back on Feb. 27 and, since that time, the Hawks have gone 6-16. HNU was swept in four by Hawaii Pacific, split with BYU-Hawaii, and swept Chaminade in Hawaii. After losing four to CBU and NDNU, then splitting with Menlo, Holy Names went 2-4 in the Tournament of Champions. Sharon Mataele (.333 AVG) and Geena Garabedian (.330 AVG, 3 HR, 18 RBI) are HNU's offensive leaders while Kristina Carbajal (7-9) offers a 3.74 ERA and 11 complete games in 103.0 innings pitched. The sweep raised ART U to 14-5 all-time against Holy Names.

COUNTING COUGARS
Winners of six consecutive games after going 4-1 in the Tournament of Champions and sweeping Hawaii Pacific on Apr. 5, Azusa Pacific is currently in a battle with Concordia for third place in the PacWest standings. The Cougars have played just four road games thus far, but are 4-0 in those contests. Third in the conference in home runs, APU is led by nine homers from Madison Hernandez and Nicki Sprague (.434 AVG, 3 HR, 28 RBIs). The tandem of Narissa Garcia (9-2, 1.94 ERA) and Carly Xepoleas (8-5, 1.94 ERA) are six and seven respectively among the conference's ERA leaders. Azusa Pacific holds a 6-5 lead after sweeping the Knights last year.

SOFTBALL FALLS TO TOROS, CLAN IN TOC FINALE
Academy of Art University softball took a pair of difficult losses to close out its fourth year participating in the Tournament of Champions on Apr. 3. Starting bright and early at 9 a.m. back at Pedretti Park, the Urban Knights were no-hit by Cal State Dominguez Hills and ended up falling 8-0 in five innings. Then, ART U's offense awoke for six runs on nine hits against Simon Fraser, but a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh resulted in a 7-6 walkoff win for the Clan.

LOOKING AHEAD
Academy of Art's homestand will continue next weekend with doubleheaders hosting Concordia (Apr. 16) and Dixie State (Apr. 17).
