PacWest Conference Championship: Academy of Art versus Concordia Final ResultsÂ
SURPRISE, Ariz. – In what may be their final match of the 2016 campaign, Academy of Art Women's Tennis went out with a decisive 5-0 sweep of the Concordia Eagles. The matchup was the final of the consolation bracket, placing the Urban Knights in fifth-place at the PacWest Conference Championship.

ART U started strong with three wins in the doubles portion of the contest, taking victories in all three positions. Freshmen
Alma Thell-Lenntorp and
Klara Thell-Lenntorp handed their opponents an 8-3 loss in first doubles for their third win as a duo in the tournament. Freshman
Paula Alcantara and senior
Michelle Dandik Zaale only dropped one game en route to an 8-1 third doubles triumph. The pair were the only ART U double's team to finish with a perfect 4-0 record in Arizona. The Eagles' Johanna Keeline and Samantha Schuster put up a fight in the second position, but freshman
Taisiia Andrieieva and junior Schneider came out on top by a score of 8-6.

Academy of Art would drop just two games in their final two singles matches needed to complete the sweep. In her potential final match as an Urban Knight, Dandik Zaale put on a show in third singles, defeating Luisa Sterkel 6-0, 6-2. Alma was the first to finish her match however, and swept her sixth-position adversary 6-0, 6-0.

ART U will now await the decision on whether or not they will be selected to participate in the NCAA Division II Regionals tournament.
