BACK IN FRIENDLY CONFINES
After taking three out of six games on the road, the Urban Knights will return to Laney College for a home stand that will last through March 15. Their first series comes this weekend against cross-town rival SF State in a three-game series split between Laney and SF State's Maloney Field.

FIRST PITCH
The first game against the Gators will begin a 6:00 p.m. at Laney College, followed by 1:00 p.m. starts on Saturday and Sunday. After playing on SF State's field on Saturday, ART U will play the final game of the series back at Laney College. Sunday's matchup was previously scheduled to be played at University of San Francisco's Benedetti Diamond, but has recently been returned to Academy of Art's home turf at Laney. Live coverage will be available at the links listed above, but as always, you can follow the Urban Knights on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

KNOTABLE KNIGHTS
During the team's recent surge of three wins in four games, several Urban Knights have seen their stats rise to the top of the stats sheet. Senior infielder/outfielder Cody Edmunds leads the team with a .368 batting average, a .526 slugging percentage, a .500 on base percentage and ten total bases. Edmunds' .500 OBP is also tied for the eighth-highest in the PacWest Conference and he is ART U's only player to have recorded both a double and a triple thus far. Junior right hander Brett Bovee, who is fresh off of pitching a complete-game shutout against Chico State on February 12, leads the pitching staff in innings pitched (14.2), and leads the starters with a 3.07 earned run average. The transfer from College of Southern Nevada's .191 batting average against is ninth-lowest amongst all pitchers in the PacWest and his innings pitched are the sixth highest in the conference.

GATORS MAKING PACWEST ROUNDS
SF State is 2-4 overall with all of their contests coming against PacWest opponents in the early stages of the season. Their only series win this year came against Holy Names when they took two out of three from the Hawks. Carter Gambrell leads the team with a .385 batting average and a .462 slugging percentage, while posting the team's second-most hits (5) and third highest on-base percentage (.385). Joe Chedid has started two games for SFSU, tossing 7.2 innings, but has a 0.00 earned run average as he has yet to allow an earned run.

KNIGHTS DEFEAT SSU 4-2 ON THE ROAD
February 16 –  The Urban Knights dominated on both sides of the ball at Seawolf Diamond on Tuesday, defeating Sonoma State 4-2.

Although ART U did not see a runner cross the plate in their first six innings, they were an offensive threat almost every time up, reaching base in every frame except for the eighth. The Urban Knights' offense finally broke through for four runs in the top of the seventh, stringing together four hits from senior catcher Zack Trueblood, freshman designated hitter Daniel Farfan, senior first baseman Brett Adami, and redshirt junior second baseman Erick Luna. Luna, senior left fielder Greg Ivory, and junior shortstop Payton Milone were each credited with a run batted in, but the last run scored when Milone forced Sonoma State's Rupert Watson to make a fielding error at second base with the bases loaded.

LOOKING AHEAD
After taking on SF State, ART U's next series will come at home against Central Washington University February 26-27.
