SAN FRANCISCO — There is still plenty to play for this week for the Academy of Art University men's basketball team when it travels to Hawaii to conclude its 2014-15 season with three Pacific West Conference games at Hawaii-Hilo, No. 22 BYU-Hawaii and Chaminade.

Though a PacWest Tournament berth is out of reach, the Urban Knights (7-16, 5-12 PacWest) are setting new heights for the program this season, and they have a chance to climb even higher on the islands. This season is a campaign that is already the program's second winningest ever. Individual milestones are also on the horizon with several career and single season records within reach.

ISLAND PLEASURE AND PRESSURE
ART U's Hawaiian opponents this week will provide opportunity, but also present challenges. The Urban Knights have won three in a row versus Hawaii-Hilo, but the Vulcans are one game ahead of them in the standings. The Knights have already played the No. 22-ranked team in the country twice this season, including upending No. 22 Seattle Pacific on Nov. 14 to begin the year, but the No. 22 Seasiders handed ART U its biggest loss of the season last month at Kezar Pavilion. ART U finally topped Chaminade for the first time in program history in their last meeting, but it took a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to do the job.

LASTING IMPRESSIONS
Senior guards Aaron Anderson and Alexis Moore are still in pursuit of making lasting marks on the career record books as they close out their time with the Urban Knights. Moore needs 17 points to move into second place on the ART U all-time career scoring list and 66 to become the record holder. He needs three more steals to set the career record and is already second in career rebounds with 306.

Anderson is firmly in the No. 4 career scoring spot with 691 points, and could become only the fifth Academy of Art player to score 700 career points. He is tied for third all-time in career rebounds (297), third in steals (79) and is fourth in assists (146).

ABOUT HAWAII-HILO
The Vulcans (10-13, 6-11 PacWest) have lost five in a row, including all four games of their recent road trip that took them through the PacWest Southern California teams and Dixie State and a trip to BYU-Hawaii on Friday. The Vulcans are three games out of the final PacWest Tournament spot with three to play – all at home – including hosting sixth-place Dominican University of California in the regular season finale.

Tre Johnson is the PacWest's second leading scorer at 18.0 points per game. He's also ranked sixth in the conference in rebounding with 7.1 rebounds per contest. UHH allows opponents to score 78.2 ppg and shoot 48.7 percent, second-worst in the conference. The Vulcans do force turnovers, however, with the PacWest's third-best turnover margin at +2.04.

ABOUT BYU-HAWAII
The Seasiders (20-5, 14-5 PacWest) have clinched a spot in the PacWest Tournament and at best can finish as the No. 3 seed. BYUH handed the Urban Knights their most lopsided loss earlier this season with a 39-point victory at Kezar Pavilion on Jan. 24. BYU-Hawaii is 12-1 at home this season and have won five in a row there dating to Jan. 10.

The Seasiders are the PacWest's best offensive team at 88.8 ppg and have the best scoring margin in the conference at +12.8. They're also the best shooting team in the PacWest with a 50.1 percent mark from the floor. Even if they are sent to the free-throw line, the Seasiders will convert there as well with a conference-best 75 percent free-throw percentage. The offense is spread out, with only one BYU-Hawaii player among the PacWest's top-10 scorers. Pablo Coro is tied for eighth at 16.0 ppg.

ABOUT CHAMINADE
The Silverswords (10-14, 7-11 PacWest) defeated Holy Names Saturday to snap a three-game losing streak. Chaminade has played in eight games this season decided by five points or less and carries a 3-5 record in those games. ART U handed them one of those losses on Jan. 19 in San Francisco with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Nick Cary.

Chaminade scores in bunches, too, with six games scoring more than 90 points and three times surpassing the century mark. The Silverswords' offense is also balanced, with no players among the PacWest's top-10 scorers. Kuany Kuany is Chaminade's top scorer and rebounder, averaging 14.7 ppg and 7.3 rpg. The SIlverswords play defense too, though, ranking No. 2 in blocked shots (3.52 blocks per game) and No. 3 in steals (7.04 steals per game).
