TIPPING OFF

The Urban Knights will look to finish off the season on a high note against Azusa Pacific in the only meeting between these two teams this year. ART U is coming off an impressive showing against Dixie State that had an unfortunate result, leading the second-ranked team in the conference for a majority of the game before falling in the final two minutes. Guards Alex Carmon and Alexis Moore both scored 20 points in the loss.

TRIO OF SENIORS SAY GOODBYE
Academy of Art will send off three seniors on Thursday who will be playing their final game in an Urban Knights uniform. Guard Garland Vinson broke out this season as a key defensive cog for ART U, playing in a career-high 17 games. Forward Rodrigo Maza finishes his two-year career with the highest career field-goal percentage in ART U history. He is also the career leader in blocks per game, and has also defied the standard of big men at the line, posting the best free throw percentage in program history at over 82%. Forward Aaron Aikman is also moving on after putting up 9.8 ppg and 4.9 rpg this year, scoring a career best 26 points against Humboldt State, one of three 20-point games this season. In his career, Aikman is in the top ten in points, with the third-best career field-goal percentage, while also ranking fifth in total rebounds and fourth in blocks.

ONE TIME TRIP FOR AZUSA
Academy of Art set a new scoring record last season (which has since been broken) in a 97-92 over the Cougars, using a 25-point night from Alex Carmon to fuel the victory. This year the Cougars would be the sixth-seed for the PacWest Tournament if they were eligible, sitting four games over .500 behind a defense that allows only 74.9 points per game, fifth-best in the PacWest. They are led by junior Troy Leaf, an active guard who is averaging 18.0 points per contest, good for third in the conference. Forward Tyler Monroe is averaging 12.6 points per game and a team-high 6.0 rebounds per contest.

HELP THE KNIGHTS DUNK CANCER
The Urban Knights are teaming up with the squad over at Dunk Cancer and Make-A-Wish on Thursday, as Dunk Cancer t-shirts will be on sale for $10, with half of those profits going towards the Make-A-Wish foundation.

RECORDS FALL IN 2013-14
The Knights have shown this year that they can do a lot of things well, especially score, as numerous offensive records have been broken this year. Alexis Moore is averaging a program-best 17.8 points per game this year, closely followed by Alex Carmon (17.7 ppg), both the top two single-season marks for the Knights. Moore also set the new single-season field goals record, while also setting a new mark in three-pointers (59), rebounds per game (6.3), and steals (50). Carmon has also shot up the charts, now sitting in third place all-time in scoring with 796 points. He also now holds the career mark in free throws (224) and broke the single-season record with 174 rebounds this year.Â
