SAN FRANCISCO — The last month of the year brings the season's first Pacific West Conference games for the Academy of Art University men's basketball team, as the Urban Knights begin conference play Saturday on the road at Notre Dame de Namur.

ART U (2-4) travels down The Peninsula for a 3 p.m. tipoff Saturday versus the Argonauts (1-4) in Belmont at NDNU's Walter Gleason Gym.

The Urban Knights went 2-4 in their preseason slate with all four of their losses coming by 10 points or less – three by single digits, two of those by three points or less. The Knights also picked up two PacWest weekly awards during the first three weeks of the season. Senior guard Alexis Moore was named PacWest Co-Player of the Week in the opening week and freshman guard Jase Harrison was named PacWest Freshman of the Week for his performance Saturday versus Western Oregon.

ABOUT NOTRE DAME DE NAMUR
The Argonauts (1-4) snapped a four-game losing streak to open the season with a 123-116 win at home Saturday over Simon Fraser in the final game of their own Thanksgiving Tournament. Less than five points have decided only one of NDNU's five games this season, as the Argos fell to Cal State Monterey Bay 74-70 on Nov. 22.

Jalen Young is the PacWest's leading scorer through the first three weeks of 2014-15, averaging 24.2 points per game. He also ranks among the conference's top-10 in 3-point field goal percentage (3rd, 54.5 percent), field goal percentage (7th, 55.7 percent) and free-throw percentage (8th, 84.0 percent). NDNU has two other players averaging in double figures with Don Washington (14.2 ppg) and Jamaal Davis (10.0). Washington is the team's leading rebounder at 9.6 boards per contest.

All-time Series: Notre Dame de Namur leads 10-2
Last Meeting: Feb. 15, 2014, Notre Dame de Namur won 72-67 in Belmont.

ROOKIE RECOGNITION
Harrison was named Pacific West Conference Freshman of the Week Monday for the week of Nov. 24-30 after having a breakout performance Saturday versus Western Oregon.

Harrison scored a season-high 15 points against the Wolves thanks to a 5-for-6 performance from the 3-point arc. The rookie had totaled four 3-pointers in the first five games of the season entering Saturday. Harrison also added two steals, an assist and one block against the Wolves. His 42.9 3-point shooting percentage is tops among Urban Knights who have attempted at least five treys this season.

PLAYING KEEP AWAY
The Urban Knights aren't letting opponents have the ball as often as they would like this season. ART U ranks fourth in the PacWest in rebounding defense, limiting opponents to 31.8 rebounds a game. The Knights are also ranked fifth in turnover margin, forcing their opponents to cough it up 1.17 more times than they do per game.
