Men's Golf Moves Up To End WWU Invite

Final Results

Bellingham, WA -- Just as they improved from the first round to the second, the Academy of Art University men's golf team moved up a spot from the second round to the third to finish ahead of PacWest foe Notre Dame de Namur at the 42nd annual Western Washington Invitational. Tommaso Vielmo and Cody Moore shot low rounds of the day for the Urban Knights.

Vielmo continued to lead ART U, firing a 76 in the final 18 holes to finish with a final score of 231. Dat Do shot a 78 to tie with Eugene Wang in the overall standings with identical scores of 235. Cody Moore cut seven strokes off his second round score to finish at 238, while Cole Yamane lowered his score again to 78 to finish with a 248. Kenny You of Dixie State won the tournament outright by shooting 206 overall, and was followed by Alex Marry (Sonoma State) at 207 and Brad Harrelson (Montana State Billings) at 212. Jack Kelly (Western Washington) and Scott Secord (University of British Columbia) tied at 214 for fourth place.

The Urban Knights overtook the Argonauts in the final round, finishing with a team score of 936 to NDNU's 938. UBC won the team scoring, beating out Sonoma State by five strokes. Dixie State University and Simon Fraser tied for fourth place overall, while UH Hilo rounded out the top five.

Academy of Art will be traveling to Chico State for the Chico State Fall Invitational on October 7-8 for their next action.
