Team Scoring Final
Turlock, CA -- Senior
Stuart Favretto rebounded from a second round of 77 to finish up the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational with a team-low 74 in the final round at the Turlock Golf and Country Club. The Urban Knights finished their final tuneup before the PacWest Championships in 18th place among a crowded field of 20 teams.
The host Warriors finished running away in first place with a score of 845, pulling ahead of second place Western Washington University by 23 strokes, most of which took place in the final round, when WWU lost 12 strokes on Stanislaus. Chico State (872), Point Loma Nazarene (884) finished third and fourth, and Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay tied for fifth place with identical scores of 886.
Favretto was the highest finisher for Academy of Art with a final score of 225, and he was followed closely by
Alberto "Dago" Esponda who shot 226.
Sean Etow (232),
Thomas Krepp (246), and
Cody Moore (248) rounded out the scoring for the Urban Knights. Trevor Blair (CSU Stanislaus) shot a 209 to finish in first, while Kyle Souza (Chico State) and James Hall (Hawaii Hilo) shot 213 to tie for second place. Seven players shot 215 to tie for fourth place.
The PacWest Championships start on Monday, April 23rd in Hilo, HI.
