Phoenix, AZ -- The Urban Knights finished their 2011-12 campaign by getting their top two scorers on the books for the Postseason All-PacWest  honors. This year, the PacWest coaches or designated representatives from each school selected 23 student-athletes for All-Conference accolades. The squad consisted of a First Team (eight selections), Second Team (seven selections) and honorable mention (five selections) as well as Player of the Year, Newcomer of the Year, and Freshman of the Year.

Overton makes an appearance on the PacWest postseason list for the second year in a row, after being named PacWest Freshman of the Year last year. The sophomore was all over the court this year, improving in a number of categories, including field goal percentage, free-throw percentage, and rebounds. He also cut down on his turnovers and made more steals than his freshman campaign, and made the PacWest Honor Roll seven times in 2011-12. He also set the program record for a single season in rebounds (168), and this year also became the all-time Urban Knights scoring leader, finishing with 827 points.

For Shamsud-din, it was the topper on a terrific season. The Portland, OR native fit right in with the high-tempo offense of the Knights, and from the beginning showed that he can score. Shamsud-din finish the year second in the PacWest in scoring, averaging 16.7 points per game. On the way, he set the Academy of Art single-season scoring record with 466 points, and set the mark for three-pointers in a single season, making 55 baskets from beyond the arc. He made the PacWest Honor Roll ten times in his first year on the Urban Knights, including a selection as the PacWest Player of the Week after a team-high 32 points.
