Dale, Wade Repeat PacWest Weekly Honors

PacWest Release #3

Phoenix, AZ --
The senior tandem of forwards Ariel Dale and Katy Wade were again found representing Academy of Art University Women's Basketball on the Pacific West Conference Weekly Fantastic 15. Following a 1-1 week in which the Urban Knights defeated the GNAC's Central Washington as part of the Fairfield Inn Classic, Dale and Wade were both among the scoring and rebounding leaders for the week in the conference. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ on Monday, Nov. 26 for games played Nov. 19 - Nov. 25.

Explosive off the bench, Dale began with a team-high 16 points against tournament host Northwest Nazarene on Friday, Nov. 23. She was a perfect 8-of-8 from the foul line and added eight rebounds as well as three assists. Dale helped keep her team close as they faced their first deficit of the season in the opening half then played a determined second despite a tough 66-62 loss to the Crusaders. The following evening, looking to bounce back, Dale was once again fierce offensively and rebounding the basketball as she finished with 13 points and eight rebounds in ART U's 73-64 victory over CWU.

For the week, the senior ranked 11th in scoring (14.5 ppg) and was tied for eighth in rebounding (8.0 rpg) in the PacWest. In 2012-13, Dale currently sits at 2nd in the PacWest in steals (3.0 spg), 5th in offensive rebounds (3.2 rpg), 6th in assists (3.5 apg), and 8th in scoring (14.2 ppg).

Wade broke out for a truly remarkable performance in the Knights' win against Central Washington this past Saturday. With a stat line that for the ages, the Portland, OR native posted 18 points, 15 rebounds (fifth all-time for ART U), five steals, and a new program-record with six blocks. She played a crucial role during ART U's 17-4 run to close out the win and all this came after she had scored 13 points and grabbed six rebounds the night before against NNU.

After the dust settled on the most impresive week, Wade ended up averaging 15.5 points (8th in PacWest), 10.5 rebounds (5th in PacWest), and led the conference with 3.5 blocks per game. On the season, Wade is 4th in rebounding in the conference (9.5 rpg) and third in blocked shots (2.7 bpg) and tied for 23rd in scoring (10.5 ppg). She is fourth in the PacWest defensive rebounds (6.5) and moved up to 6th in offensive rebounds (3.0 rpg) with six total against CWU.

This is the third consecutive occasion this season in which Dale has been honored on the PacWest's weekly selections and the fourth in her ART U career. For Wade, the weekly honor was the second in her career.
