PacWest Release #1
PacWest Release #2

Phoenix, AZ --
A host of Urban Knights could be found throughout the first two releases of Pacific West Conference Weekly honors highlighted by senior Ariel Dale's Player of the Week for the most recent 2-0 homestand by Academy of Art University. Dale was among the weekly leaders in nearly every major statistical category, perhaps most notably as the player with the most steals in the conference. Dale was joined by freshman Regina Camera on the Weekly Fantastic 15 for this week while Dale, senior Jordan Rogers, freshman Sha'Nice Storey, senior Katy Wade were among the Weekly Fantastic 15 for the season's first week. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ on Tuesday, Nov. 21 for games played over the first two weeks of action (Nov. 9 - Nov. 18).

Ariel Dale

Leading by example, Dale averaged 16.5 points (5th in PWC), 7.5 rebounds (9th in PWC), 6.0 steals (1st in PWC) and 3.5 assists per game (10th in PWC) in the Urban Knights' home wins over the Alaska Nanooks and Nebraska Kearney. In the 2012-13 home opener versus the Nanooks (Nov. 16), Dale poured in a game-high 18 points with 16 of those coming in a historic first period. ART U scored its new program record for a half (56 points) and the senior's four steals in that portion were a major factor. Then against UNK (Nov. 18), Dale came one steal shy of the program record she tied last season, notching seven in total while again providing a spark off the bench with 15 points and eight rebounds (six on the offensive glass). The Los Angeles, CA native went for a team-high 10 points in the second half in that one.

Dale's first week of the season, which earned her a spot on the Weekly Fantastic 15, the senior averaged 11.5 points, 4.5 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game as ART U swept the CCAA/PacWest Challenge with wins over Humboldt State (Nov. 9) and Cal State East Bay (Nov. 10). She converted 11 of 13 free throws, one of which sparked an important 7-0 run in the first half against CSUEB. Through the first four games this year, Dale currently ranks 1st in the PacWest in steals (4.0 spg), 4th in assists (4.0 apg), 8th in scoring (14.0 ppg), and 10th in offensive rebounds (3.0 rpg).

Alongside Dale on the most recent announcement of PacWest weekly honors, Camera was both a threat shooting from outside and rebounding on the inside in the 2-0 week at home. The freshman averaged 11.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.5 three-pointers made per game which ranked sixth in the PacWest. All nine of her points came from beyond the arc in the win over the Alaska Nanooks and then she was just a rebound shy of a double-double in the victory hosting Nebraska Kearney. Camera's 14 points and nine rebounds (five offensive) were both season-highs for the Saint Mary's High School product.

Camera, one of the Top 30 scorers in the PacWest at this point in time, currently leads Academy of Art University in 3-pointers made with eight thus far. The Stockton, CA native also ranks ninth in the conference in both 3-pointers made per game (2.0) and steals (2.0 spg)

Rogers, another across-the-board, contributor earned her PacWest weekly honor for a particularly outstanding first week of the season. During that opening half of 2012-13, the senior posted 13.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game, ranking sixth in the conference in both categories for the week. Her 8-for-8 stretch led the PacWest in free throw percentage with perhaps none more crucial than the pair she made in the final two seconds against East Bay to seal a 59-56 victory. Rogers was also a major defensive presence, averaging 2.0 blocks per game (2nd in conference for the week) and a facilitator on offense with 3.0 assists per game.

The Sparks, NV native is currently one of four Urban Knights averaging double figures in scoring (12.3 ppg) which ranks her 16th in the PacWest. After a career-high eight offensive rebounds against CSUEB, Rogers is now the ninth-best offensive rebounder in the conference (3.3 rpg). She also sits at 12th in assists (3.3 apg) and seventh in blocked shots (1.5 bpg).

Sha'Nice Storey
Making a big impact in her first collegiate game, Storey exploded for a game-high 22 points and was recognized with a place on the opening week's PacWest Fantastic 15 as a result. The freshman would average 12.5 points per game that week to rank eighth in the PacWest. Shooting 69.2 percent (9-for-13) from the field in the season opener, Storey nailed her first 3-pointer and stayed hot the rest of the way, delivering 14 points in the second half.

Storey is ranked 14th in scoring through the first four games with a 12.5 points per game average. The St. Mary's Academy product is second on the team in 3-pointers made and ranks 15th in the PacWest (1.8). On the season, she also has six steals for an Academy of Art University squad that is second overall in the conference in that category.

Wade, one of five ART U seniors this season, is already making her final year one to remember particularly with her impressive ability to rebound the basketball. Recipient of her first PacWest Weekly Fantastic 15 for a strong opening week, Wade has remained on the cusp of averaging a double-double thus far. During the CCAA/PacWest Challenge, the senior averaged 9.7 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, ranking second in rebounding for the week in the PacWest. After grabbing 10 rebounds in the season opener, Wade went for 14 points and nine boards in a more tightly-fought battle with East Bay.

For the year, Wade is sixth in rebounding in the conference (9.0 rpg) and third in blocked shots (2.3 bpg) after logging seven total against Alaska and Nebraska Kearney. She is sixth in the PacWest defensive rebounds (6.0) and tied with Dale for 10th in offensive rebounds (3.0 rpg) following her stretch of four offensive rebounds secured in each of ART U's first three contests.

This is the first PacWest Player of the Week honor in Dale's career and her third weekly as an Urban Knight. For Rogers, the weekly honor was the second in her career. Wade, Camera, and Storey each pick up their first career PacWest weekly honors.
